SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Delia Edwards of Sikeston will be held at 10 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Reynolds will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Edwards, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996, at Clearview Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 7, 1906, in Wheatley, Ark., daughter of John Henry and Mollie Lite Cain. She and Albert Ras Edwards were married Aug. 30, 1924, in Marion, Ill. He died April 18, 1977.
Edwards lived in the area more than 50 years, and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Albert Edwards of New Madrid; two daughters, Virginia Speer of Sikeston, Patricia Wilson of Carthage, Texas; a brother, Alfred Cain of Caruthersville; 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, daughter, three brothers and a sister.
