CHARLESTON -- Delbert Joseph Zoellner, 76, of Charleston died Friday, May 9, 1997, at his home.
He was born May 13, 1920, at Biehle, son of Adolph and Elizabeth Renaud Zoellner. He and Mary Doris Winger were married Oct. 20, 1945.
Zoellner owned and operated Zoellner's Lawn Service a number of years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and received three Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Zoellner of Cape Girardeau, Martin Zoellner of Wildwood; four daughters, Rosemary "Rosie" Earl of Cape Girardeau, Suzanne Lee of Charleston, Beth Dill of Huntsville, Ala., Sarah Turnbow of Jackson; a brother, Ralph Zoellner of Brewer; two sisters, Marie Wibbenmeyer of Perryville, Lucille Wibbenmeyer of Biehle; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. Sunday. A prayer service will be held at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Henry's Church, with the Rev. Rich Lause officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
