MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Delbert Andrew Eaker, 85, of Marble Hill died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Eaker was born May 11, 1922, at Lutesville, Mo., son of Joseph and Sadie Loughary Eaker. He and Helen Louise Winburne were married May 23, 1943, at St. Louis, and she preceded him in death.
Eaker was employed as an embalmer and funeral director at Hoffmeister Funeral Home in St. Louis. He attended college for two years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Rick Eaker of Arnold, Mo.; two daughters, Denise L. Holloway of Marble Hill, Sheila Lou Larkin of St. Louis; two brothers, Truman Eaker of Marble Hill, Carl Eaker of Illinois; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a sister and two brothers.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes officiating, with honors by Military Honors Team. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery.
