Delbert C. Crowell, 86, of Jackson died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Jackson Manor. He was born March 13, 1925, in Wauneta, Neb., to Leo and Iva McMullun Crowell. He and Ruby A. Delbert C. Crowell, 86, of Jackson died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Jackson Manor.

He was born March 13, 1925, in Wauneta, Neb., to Leo and Iva McMullun Crowell. He and Ruby A. Daniel were married Aug. 4, 1951, in Cape Girardeau.

Delbert served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a navigator on a B-17 bomber.

He received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He was an engineer with Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America. He retired, moved to Cape Girardeau and worked 15 years for the city of Cape Girardeau Engineering Department.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Crowell of Jackson; two daughters, Rebecca Sue Crowell of Jackson, Charlotte Worswick of Ankeny, Iowa; a grandson, Alexander Crowell of Jackson; two sisters, Elva Lostrolta of Sidney, Neb., and Marilyn Wenberg of Lander, Wyo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. until service time Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kim L. Ferguson officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
