CAIRO, Ill. -- Delana Hargus, 75, of Cairo, died Monday, March 1, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born May 26, 1917, in Cunningham, Ky., daughter of Carl and Lealier Edwards Ransom. She married Carl Hargus, who died Feb. 14, 1970.
Before retiring she was a partner in the Lane and Hargus Hardware store in Cairo. She was a member of Cairo Baptist Church and American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Carl Hargus of Florissant; a sister, Margaret Hartman of Indianola, Miss.; a brother, Lillard "Shot" Ransom of Cairo; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Barkett Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Larry Potts will officiate, with burial in Mound City National Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
