Debra Hendershott

Debra Lynn "Debbie" Hendershott went to be with her heavenly father while at home with family and friends Wednesday, March 11, 2009.

She was born March 15, 1962, in Meridian, Miss., to James and Maudie Lou Hart. Debbie married Tim Hendershott, son of Mary Jane and the late James Hendershott, Oct. 17, 1981.

Debra is survived by her husband; parents of Olive Branch, Ill.; two sons, Clint and Kirk Hendershott of Cape Girardeau County; a grandson, Caedan Hendershott of Cape Girardeau County; a sister, Sandra (Glen) Gibbons of Marion, Ill.; a brother, Brent (Deena) Hart of Tamms, Ill.; nieces Stephanie (Dan) Little and Alexis Gibbons of Marion, Ella Grace Hart of Tamms; a great-nephew, Haydan Little.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents James and Edna Hart; maternal grandparents Claude and Grace Clinton; and twin brothers Wendall Dean and Randall Gene Hart.

She was a charter member of CrossRoads Fellowship Church of Jackson. She enjoyed shopping, traveling and spending time outdoors with her family and friends. Debbie was an active member of Bootheel Boss Gobblers local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

She was a respiratory therapist at Southeast Missouri Hospital until her battle against breast cancer prevented her from continuing to work.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Caedan Hendershott Education Fund at First Missouri State Bank of Cape Girardeau.

She would want everyone to remember the quote "Live well, laugh often, love much."

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday at CrossRoads Fellowship Church in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Dr. Brian Anderson will officiate, assisted by Jim Matthews and Tim Winborne. Interment will follow in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
