ORAN, MO. -- Debbie Madigan, 60, of Oran passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Sept. 17, 1956, in Chaffee, Missouri, to the late Aubrey "Jack" Whorton and Peggy Brindley Whorton. She married Walter Edward Madigan on Jan. 25, 1975, and he preceded her in death June 3, 2003.
Debbie was a Scott County dispatcher for 18 years. She was a member of the Oran Volunteer Fire Department for 21 years.
Survivors include her mother, Peggy; one son, AJ (Chelsey) Madigan of Chester, Illinois; a daughter, Kristal Madigan of Oran; a brother, Rick (Sally) Whorton of Florissant, Missouri; three sisters, Bonita (Bryan) Boston of St. Charles, Missouri, Paula (Darryl) Menzel of Highland, Illinois, and Cheryl (Craig) Politte of Foley, Missouri; and six grandchildren, Abigail, Macey, Tristen, Breanna, Dominic and Aubrey.
She was preceded in death by a niece, Raechel Menzel.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Miner Baptist Church, 416 Route H, Sikeston, Missouri, with the Rev. Jeremy Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at New Morley Cemetery in Morley, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a scholarship fund set up for Abigail Madigan at Focus Bank in Sikeston.
