ADVANCE -- Dean E. Lewis, 85, of Lindale, Texas, died Wednesday, March 20, 1996, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. He was born July 4, 1910, in Advance, son of Dr. C.E. and Mary Francis Harwell Lewis. He and Opal R. Richmond were married Jan. 4, 1932, in Advance. She died March 13, 1996...

ADVANCE -- Dean E. Lewis, 85, of Lindale, Texas, died Wednesday, March 20, 1996, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.

He was born July 4, 1910, in Advance, son of Dr. C.E. and Mary Francis Harwell Lewis. He and Opal R. Richmond were married Jan. 4, 1932, in Advance. She died March 13, 1996.

Lewis owned an insurance agency many years in Advance. He was a member of Advance United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Ben Lewis of Lindale; two grandchildren, and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Virgil Bunch officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance.
