Connie D. "Dean" Edwards, 76, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born April 10, 1946, in Chaffee, Missouri, to William E. and Mary Humphrey Edwards. He married Rosemary L. Way. She passed away Nov. 20, 2015.
Dean served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He then worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Stevedores, retiring in 2008.
Loving survivors include his dear companion, June Trovillion of Cape Girardeau; five children, Donald (late Donna) Way of Cape Girardeau, Richard Way of Fruitland, Dennis (Debbie) Way of Jackson, Bill (Wendy) Way of Cape Girardeau and Tyra (Rick) Schmidt of Cape Girardeau; several grandchildren; a great-grandson; and two siblings.
In addition to his wife and parents, Dean was preceded in death by 10 siblings.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
