Dayton M. "Mac" Rhodes, 66, of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 30, 1926, at Flat River, son of Oliver and Beulah Downs Rhodes.

Rhodes served in the U.S. Marines 22 years. He then worked for his brothers at Plaza Tire here, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of Elks Lodge here, and a VFW Post.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of St. Louis; a daughter, Wanda Stephens of Pacific; a stepson, Frank Gigiano of Alexandria, Va.; four brothers, Edwin "Pete" and Vernon "Pee Wee" Rhodes of Cape Girardeau, Alvin Rhodes of Jackson, Marvin Rhodes of Columbia; two sisters, Evelyn Seal of Farmington, Vivian Wampler of Montrose, Colo., and three grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. S.S. Borum officiating. A service by VFW Post 3838 will follow. Burial will be in St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery at Ballwin.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday. An Elks service will be held at 7:30.
