COBDEN, Ill. -- David A. Vance, 70, of Cobden died Monday, April 9, 2007, at his home.

He was born Feb. 4, 1937, in Chicago, son of John C. and Barbara Smith Vance. He and Donna F. Wolff were married in 1960 in Springfield, Ill.

Vance was a bricklayer all his life. He was a member of United Bricklayers Union.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Diane Vance-Snyder of Glenallen, Mo., Debbie Lence of Anna, Ill., Denise Vance of Cobden; two brothers, John Vance of Coram, Mont., Gary Vance of Tulsa, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

There is no service.

Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden is in charge of arrangements.
