SIKESTON -- David J. Sellers, 83, of Sikeston died Monday, Feb. 10, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 30, 1913, at Randles, son of John R. and Rosie Chappell Sellers. He and Vera J. New were married May 18, 1935, in Charleston.
Sellers was a riverboat pilot 25 years with Patton and Tully Transportation Co. in Memphis, Tenn. He also had worked at Brown Shoe Co. in Charleston. He was formerly of Diehlstadt.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Sellers of Athens, Ala.; a daughter, Davine Lambert of Sikeston; two sisters, Delores Bowles of Liberty, Lecy Hendricks of Greenbrier, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with Dan Richardson officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
