David East, 50, of St. Peters, Mo., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at his home.
He was born July 17, 1956, in Cape Girardeau, son of John Jefferson and Dorothy Ladd East Jr.
Mr. East graduated from Central High School in 1974, and from Southeast Missouri State University in 1980 and played on the university's former Indians football team.
He was a pharmaceutical sales representative with Pfizer 22 years and prior to that worked at Thorngate Ltd. in Cape Girardeau.
Mr. East was a member of St. Joseph of Cottleville in St. Charles, Mo.
He is survived by a son, Jeffrey East of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Lauren East of Knoxville; his mother, Dorothy East of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, William "Bill" East and wife, Judy, of Cleveland, Ohio, John East and wife, Dotte, of Cape Girardeau, Rick East and wife, Becky, of Cape Girardeau, Stephen East and wife, Becky, of St. Charles; three sisters, Barbara Glueck and husband, Kevin, of Kelso, Mo., Karen Altenthal and husband, Brad, of Cape Girardeau, Mary Boeller and husband, Keith, of Cape Girardeau; fiancee, Sharon Hopmann of St. Peters; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Roger East.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Parish prayers will be at 7:30.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Hulshof and the Rev. Rick Valleroy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
