David Wayne Aufdenberg, 63, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, at his home.
Born Aug. 12, 1957, in Cape Girardeau to William A. and Ruby Augusta Fluegge Aufdenberg, he was the youngest of seven children.
David was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. He and Carla Reimann were married May 18, 1985, at St. Paul Church.
David was a 1975 graduate of Jackson High School. He was especially interested in electronics and attended the Basic Institute of Technology (BIT) in St. Louis. His employment included Southard's, Lenco Electronics, working as a life insurance agent for Aid Association for Lutherans and Link Electronics, retiring in 2013.
David was passionate about Carla and their sons. He often joked that spending time with his boys was his hobby.
Loving survivors include his wife of 35 years, Carla Aufdenberg of Jackson; children, Kyle (Lauren) Aufdenberg of San Antonio and Tommy Aufdenberg of St. Louis; siblings, Elfrieda Williams, Carol (Walter) Kutscher, Richard W. (Judy) Aufdenberg and Loretta (Melvin) Uelsmann, all of Jackson, and Mary (Ralph) Walther of Gordonville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Loustell Ludwig.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to service time Sunday, Sept. 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
The Rev. Jason Shaw will officiate the funeral at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at the church. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran School.
