JACKSON -- Darrel Dean Mayfield, 63, of Jackson died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Heartland Care and Rehab at Cape Girardeau.
He was born, May 9, 1936, at Mayfield, son of Dayton and Kate Lincoln Mayfield. He and Carol McDaniel were married Jan. 25, 1958, at Kansas City.
Mayfield had worked for Superior Electric for 20 years and for Rival Manufacturing Co. for nine years. He retired in February 1996, after 13 years service with the Jackson Street Department. He was a member of the Little Whitewater Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Joann Lynn Mayfield Anderson of Ozark; three brothers, Hobert Mayfield of Bolivar, Wayne Mayfield of Delta and Floyd Mayfield of Marble Hill; two sisters, Dorthy Doggett of High Ridge and Faye Dockins of Jackson; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son who died at birth, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Service at Jackson.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Culbertson officiating. Burial will follow at Pullian Cemetery.
