MILLER CITY, Ill. -- Darold Dee Billings, 72, of Miller City died at 1:27 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at his home.

He was born June 23, 1944, in Cairo, Illinois, the son of Darold Grace and Ruth Ryal Billings. He married Janice Roberts.

Darold Dee worked as a farmer in Miller City and the Dogtooth Bend area. He was also a concrete finisher and worked with his brother Don in St. Louis. Darold Dee was a member of Cairo Masonic Lodge 237, Shriners, Knights Templar and Lake Milligan Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Billings, of Miller City; sons, Shane (Brenda) Billings of Kevil, Kentucky, and Jason (Natalie) Billings of Aurora, Illinois; stepdaughter, Missy Young of East Cape Girardeau, Illinois; grandchildren, Laura, Amber and Camille Billings; three stepgrandchildren, Breanna Palmer, Trenton Butler and TJ Butler; great-grandchild, Carson Palmer; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and lots of great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald and Harmon Billings.

The family would like to thank Melodee Henderson, Karen Worthington and Martha Garrett (Celtic Hospice) for all their help to Darold Dee and Janice during his illness.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Illinois.

Funeral service will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brent Gordon officiating and eulogy by Jeff Farris. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital, which was near and dear to Darold Dee's heart, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
