Darlene K. Roberts, 63, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born July 10, 1934, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Willis and Rena Atchison Tripp. She married Harold Dwayne Roberts on March 8, 1952, in Randolph County, Ark. He died in 1991.

Roberts was a homemaker, though she had been previously employed with Rustman Bus Co., Luhr Brothers and St. Louis Cape Bus Line.

She was a graduate of College High School and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion in Jackson and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW in Cape Girardeau. She was also a member of Iona Baptist Church near Oriole.

Survivors include three sons, Larry and Kenny Roberts, both of Cape Girardeau, and Jim Roberts of Bloomfield; two daughters, Bonnie Sperry of Titusville, Fla., and Phyllis Brunke of Jackson; six brothers, Leonard Tripp of Cape Girardeau County, Webb and Ralph Tripp, both of Cape Girardeau, Denzil Tripp of St. Louis, and Paul and Fred Tripp, both of California; three sisters, Dorothy Beard of Wyandotte, Okla., Jewell Donovan of St. Louis and Beatrice Jacobs of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Iona Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eddie Dodson officiating. Burial will be in the McClains Chapel Cemetery near Oriole.
