Memorial service for Darlene Josephine Burgener of Marion, Ill., will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. The Rev. Richard Mohr will officiate.
Meredith-Blue Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of arrangements.
Burgener, 85, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Parkway Manor Nursing Facility in Marion.
She was born Feb. 17, 1916, in Taylorville, Ill., daughter of Theodore and Pauline Brown Gooden. She married Carl A. Burgener, who died April 3, 1998.
Burgener owned and operated a beauty shop in Marion many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Michael Burgener of Bonsall, Calif.; two daughters, Deborah Powell of DuQuoin, Ill., Carla Bittle of Cape Girardeau; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
