Daniel Joseph Wengert, 51, of Vista, Calif., died Friday, Dec. 18, 2004, at his home. He was born Feb. 23, 1953, in Cape Girar-deau, son of Joseph and Venita Wen-gert. He and Vickie Kimball were married Dec. 29, 1979, in California. Wengert was a 1971 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. He moved to California in 1974 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1974 to 1976. Following active duty, he worked as an assembler specialist at CUBIC Corp. in San Diego, Calif., for 26 years...

Daniel Joseph Wengert, 51, of Vista, Calif., died Friday, Dec. 18, 2004, at his home.

He was born Feb. 23, 1953, in Cape Girar-deau, son of Joseph and Venita Wen-gert. He and Vickie Kimball were married Dec. 29, 1979, in California.

Wengert was a 1971 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. He moved to California in 1974 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1974 to 1976. Following active duty, he worked as an assembler specialist at CUBIC Corp. in San Diego, Calif., for 26 years.

Survivors include two stepsons, Mike and Bob Kimball of Vista; his mother of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Larry Wengert of Joliet, Ill., Kevin Wengert of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Debi Crawford and Sharon Cassout of Cape Girardeau, Jo Hunze of Chesterfield, Mo.; and three granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his wife and father.

Funeral service will be held Jan. 7 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, Calif.

Eternal Hills Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
