Daniel Paul Kurtz, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, April 8, 2024, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 17, 1943, in Germanville, Iowa, to Leon and Mary Quinn Kurtz. He and Mary Louise Roth Kurtz were married June 6, 1992, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.

Daniel was a salesperson for Primestar and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Kurtz; four daughters, Robin Kurtz of Ozark, Rebecca Kurtz of Newport Richie, Florida, Jenine Kurtz-Conway of Branson and Jessica (Manuel) Mozo of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, Jim (Karen) Kurtz of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; sister, Mary (Frank) Powers of Fort Madison, Iowa; and eight grandchildren, Justin McNaughton, Blake Kolwyck, Colsen Conway, Javen Conway, Shayla Conway, Bryce Mozo, Brett Mozo and Brielle Mozo.

Daniel was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Kurtz, and three sisters, Jeanette Kurtz, Dolores Herrod and Patricia (Roger) Randol.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Rick Jones officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to The Ehlers-Danlos Society, 447 Broadway, 2nd Floor, No. 670, New York, NY 10013, or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1913 Ritter Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
