CARTERVILLE, Ill. -- Daniel Gilbert Brames Sr., 67, of Carterville, formerly of Anna, Ill., died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.

He was born Sept. 23, 1941.

Brames was a graduate of Indiana State University. He was a former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include a son, Dan Brames of Franklin, Tenn.; two daughters, Deborah Michel of Dallas, Christine Bonner of Ridgeland, Miss.; three brothers, Fred Brames, Herm Brames and Arnie Brames; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Williamson Memorial Gardens in Franklin, Tenn.

The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bala officiating.

Burial will be in Williamson Memorial Gardens.
