WHITEWATER - Dale Grindstaff, 78, of Whitewater died Friday, June 14, 1996, at his home
He was born Nov. 19, 1917, at Scopus, son of Warren and Vallie Mayfield Grindstaff.
He married Irene Sawyers April 12, 1939. She survives.
Grindstaff was a farmer, and worked at Florsheim Shoe for 30 years. He was a member of Lutesville General Baptist, where he was a former deacon and Sunday School superintendent.
Other survivors are two daughters, Shelba Jean Lincoln and Lois Elaine Myers, both of Whitewater; a brother, the Rev. Floyd Grindstaff of Marble Hill; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Jessie Long officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
