Dale Dillow

McCLURE, Ill. -- Dale L. Dillow, 78, of McClure died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Carbondale, Ill., a son to the late Herman C. and Maude E. Gunn Dillow.

Dillow was a member of First Baptist Church of Grand Tower, Ill., but attended the Pentecostal Church in McClure in recent years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Dillow was retired from sales and also operated his own lawn care service. He was very proud to have been a volunteer at Saint Francis approximately 15 years.

Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth Keith of St. Louis, Wilma Tate of Memphis, Tenn.; several nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter and Herman Dillow Jr.; two sisters, Faye Anderson and Lillian Fisher; and a niece, Marilyn Hart.

Visitation will be from noon to service time Saturday at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Ill.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Interment will be in Walker Hill Cemetery at Grand Tower, with military rites by American Legion Post 127 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7190 in Carbondale, and Jackson County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 69.
