DEXTER -- Dale M. Cravens, 77, of Dexter died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1996, at his home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1919, at Hartville, son of Lewis and Roxie Ward Cravens. He and Margaret Walker were married Sept. 27, 1944, in Piggott, Ark.
Cravens lived in Parma 51 years, moving to Dexter in 1973. He owned and operated a service station at Parma many years. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Parma, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jimmy Cravens of Dexter; two daughters, Marcia Beaird and Sherry Hector of Dexter; a brother, Floyd Cravens of Parma; four sisters, Gracie Shaw, Sylvia Cregg and Laura Johnson, all of Parma, Margaret Ordiway of Baxter Springs, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wayne Dismuke officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
