Daisy Marie Koch, 81, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at her home.
She was born April 21, 1930, in Jackson, and was the last surviving child of Joseph and Josephine Nitsch Myer. She and Gilbert Douglas Koch were married Sept. 3, 1949, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 1996.
Daisy graduated from Jackson High School and was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. When she and her husband moved to Cape Girardeau, they became members of St. Mary's Cathedral.
Daisy was a devoted wife, mother and loving grandmother. She enjoyed family picnics and family gatherings of any kind.
She also enjoyed playing bingo and always looked for the best in people.
Loving survivors include her children, Robert (Delores) Koch, Scott (Jane) Koch and Susan (Mike) Barrett, all of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren, Greg (Patty Park) Hohler, Jane Hohler, Renee Bennett, Michelle (Greg) Hengst, Joe (Angie) Koch, Megan (Tyson) Rayburn, Amanda Koch, LaCole Kelton and Nicholas Barrett; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating.
Interment will follow at Cape Girardeau County Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Mary's Cathedral.
