VANDUSER -- Former mayor D. Norman Griffin, 85, of Vanduser, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 1995, in Vanduser Park. He was born Dec. 23, 1909, in Fayette County, Ala., son of William Jackson and Corda Estella Atteberry Griffin. He and Lela C. Griffin were married Dec. 22, 1934. She died April 17, 1989. VANDUSER -- Former mayor D. Norman Griffin, 85, of Vanduser, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 1995, in Vanduser Park.

He was born Dec. 23, 1909, in Fayette County, Ala., son of William Jackson and Corda Estella Atteberry Griffin. He and Lela C. Griffin were married Dec. 22, 1934. She died April 17, 1989. He and Margaret H. Clare were married Nov. 9, 1991, in Vanduser.

Griffin was a clerk and assistant manager at Black and Sons Store. He had served on the Vanduser School Board and Scott County Central School Board. He was a member of Vanduser Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, William Griffin of Vanduser; two daughters, Yvonne Baitlon of Pueblo, Colo., Linda Heller of Jefferson City; a brother, Bond Griffin of Bloomfield; two sisters, Bernice Eason of Sikeston, Evelyn Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Marvin Graham officiating. Burial will be in Morley Cemetery at Morley.
