Cutis Edgar Crites, 89, of Sedgewickville, Mo., died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Gir­ar­deau.
He was born Dec. 17, 1917, in Sedgewickville, son of Clyde Edgar and Annie Elizabeth Bollinger Crites. He was first married to Glenda Sebaugh, who preceded him in death. He and Mary Jane Haupt married Dec. 31, 1959. She died Oct. 15, 2003.
Crites was a sheet metal worker for McDonnell-Douglas for 30 years. He retired in 1981. He served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 6, 1942, to Oct. 25, 1943, during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 1000 in Jefferson City.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Crites of St. Louis; a stepson, Larry Barks of Florrisant, Mo.; three daughters, LaVern Crites of Sedgewickville and Linda Crites and Patsy Bahrns of Effingham, Ill.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a stepgrandson; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Anthony Stewart will officiate. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson with military honors.
