ADVANCE -- Curtiss Anderson, 73, Advance Route 2, died Monday, Aug. 29, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. ADVANCE -- Curtiss Anderson, 73, Advance Route 2, died Monday, Aug. 29, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 23, 1921, in St. James, son of Lark Bowman and Charlotte Reissaus Anderson. He and Helen Alexander were married March 23, 1940, in Sullivan. He later married Betty Revelle Estes Aug. 9, 1968, in West Plains.

Anderson was with the Missouri State Highway Patrol from 1945-51; was farm loan inspector with Prudential Insurance Co. from 1951-58; formed the Anderson Real Estate Co. in Blytheville, Ark., in 1958, dealing in agricultural investments.

He acquired Bollinger County Bank at Marble Hill in 1974, and had been a banker with Madison County Bank at Fredericktown and Marquand.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, C. Larry Anderson of Heber Springs, Ark., Lark Anderson of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Lana Hertel of Crystal Lake, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Judy Gipson of Ballwin, Janet Ugor of Carrollton, Texas; two brothers, Kenneth Anderson of Drasco, Ark., Vernon Anderson of Sikeston; three sisters, Naomi Gatliff of Urbana, Mildred Rainey of Springfield, Shirley Lancaster of West Plains, and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson and two brothers.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Home in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Virgil Bunch officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
