DEXTER -- Curtis L. Eskew, 86, of Dexter, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1996, at Crowley Ridge Care Center.
He was born May 1, 1909, in Dexter, son of Andrew Jackson and Mary Rankin Eskew. He and Eva Martin were married Jan. 16, 1932, at Bloomfield.
Eskew was a retired farmer and truck driver, and had worked at Ringer Hardware. He was a member of Sweet Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dale Eskew of Imperial, Larry Eskew of Jackson; four daughters, Helen Gales and Vera Griffy of Dexter, Reta DePriest of Kennett, JoAnn Pettibone of Overland; 18 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, sister and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Marion Gipson and Dean Williams officiating. Burial will be in Triplett Cemetery near Dexter.
