MARBLE HILL -- Cuba B. Clubb died at Chateau Girardeau Health Care Center Saturday, February 19, 2000. He was born in Zalma, Mo., Oct. 25, 1909, to the late Thomas Jefferson Clubb and Belle Sitze Clubb.
Mr. Clubb served in World War II and later as a clerk of the Selective Service Board. He retired as Elementary Principal of Woodland School District in 1975 after 36 years in education. He was a member of the Woodland PTA, CTA, MSTA, Phi Delta Kappa, SEMO Principals Association and the Marble Hill Rotary Club. He was a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. He was a charter member of Twin City Jaycees, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Zalma Masonic Lodge and was a past member of the Lutesville Presbyterian Church, where he had been Treasurer and Elder for many years. He was a current member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Mr. Clubb graduated from SEMO State Teacher's College in 1953 with at BS in Education and from Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn., in 1954 with a Master's in Education and Administration. He did post-graduate work at the University of Denver.
On June 23, 1946, he married Pauline E. Eaker, who survives. He is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Mark Crader, Sikeston; two grandchildren, Laura and Jeff King, Sikeston, Chris Crader, Oxford, Miss.; and one great-granddaughter, Kristen King.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers. He is survived by one sister, Veda Shetley of Fredericktown, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday from 3-8 p.m. at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Hugh V. Stewart and Rev. Nancy Gillard officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
