Coy Farmer, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born Jan. 23, 1914, at Boss, Mo., son of Peter and Myrtle Short Farmer. He and Mae L. Hanning were married Sept. 22, 1934, in St. Louis. She died Aug. 2, 2000.
Farmer worked at Superior Electric in St. Louis and Cape Girardeau. He retired from Superior Electric and then was a projectionist at Esquire Theater and other local theaters many years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville.
He served in the Merchant Marines from May 28, 1943, to Aug. 15, 1945. Part of his service was considered U.S. Army service and part U.S. Coast Guard service.
He is survived by a nephew, Larry Hanning of Burfordville.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Loren Boettcher officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery in Gordonville with military rites by Missouri Honors Team.
