Cosimo Genovese

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Cosimo F. Genovese, 77, of Perryville died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at Perry Oaks Manor.

He was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Rochester, N.Y., son of Joseph and Ruth E. Flescher Genovese. He and Lorraine H. Plachta were married Oct. 18, 1947, in Rochester.

Genovese worked 22 years at Sargent and Greenleaf, and then retired after 13 years at America Devices in Steeleville, Ill. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Genovese of Centerville, Va., David Genovese of Eagan, Minn.; a daughter, Cindy Cox of Perryville; a sister, Evelyn Skrzynski of Rochester; two stepbrothers, Peter Genovese of Rochester, Robert Genovese of Phoenix, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Parish prayers with Knights of Columbus will be at 5 Wednesday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.
