PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Cornelia C. Winkler, 85, of Perryville died Monday, June 11, 2012, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 9, 1926, at Apple Creek, Mo., to Henry N. and Sophie Josephine Wibbenmeyer Buchheit. She married Hubert Winkler on May 28, 1946, at Apple Creek.

Cornelia had worked at International Shoe Co., and was also a day care provider. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality, American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered at St. Vincent Thrift Store. She was an avid quilter and seamstress.

Survivors include her husband, Hubert Winkler of Perryville; three sons, Craig (Kathy Naeger) and Larry "Booby" (Brenda) Winkler of Perryville, Chris (Melissa) Winkler of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Diane (Bill) Cooksey of Northglenn, Colo., Denise (Duane) Brewer of Perryville; and a sister, Betty Farrar of Perryville.

Also 15 grandchildren, Chelsea, Christina and Billy Cooksey, Jaime (David) Craig, Cyle Winkler, Jessica (Steven) Caddell, Cory Layton, Andy Hayden, Eric Winkler, Grant and Sean Brewer, Emma, Aiden, Tate and Brynn Winkler; seven great-grandchildren, Calla Cooksey, Sebastian Winkler, Gavin and Annaliese Craig, Maddison, Aleah and Owen Caddell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronnie Winkler; four sisters; and four brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and from 6:30 to 10:50 a.m. Friday at Miller Family Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Thursday. The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul School Endowment Fund or the American Heart Association.
