CORA PATTERSON

Cora C. Patterson, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at Heartland Care Rehab Center. She was born Oct. 2, 1914, at Commerce, daughter of David Edgar and Lillie Mae Scott Allen. She married Charles Patterson Sr., who died in 1959. Patterson was a member of St. James AME Church. She was a member of Princess Oziell Chapter 101 Order of Eastern Star, and was a past worthy matron and past district deputy of the order...

Cora C. Patterson, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at Heartland Care Rehab Center.

She was born Oct. 2, 1914, at Commerce, daughter of David Edgar and Lillie Mae Scott Allen. She married Charles Patterson Sr., who died in 1959.

Patterson was a member of St. James AME Church. She was a member of Princess Oziell Chapter 101 Order of Eastern Star, and was a past worthy matron and past district deputy of the order.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Patterson Jr. and William "Bill" Patterson of Cape Girardeau, Rotha Patterson of Jackson, Tenn.; three sisters, Lolline Daniels of Cape Girardeau, Lillie Pearson of Commerce, Anita Smith of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. James AME Church, with the Rev. David R. Allen Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service time.

Sparks Funeral Home at Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
