EAST PRAIRIE -- Colene Oliver, 79, of East Prairie died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at East Prairie Nursing Center. She was born April 15, 1918, in Anniston, daughter of Andy and Hattie Thurman Calhoun. She and Earlene N. "Fats" Oliver wre married Sept. 22, 1934...

EAST PRAIRIE -- Colene Oliver, 79, of East Prairie died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at East Prairie Nursing Center.

She was born April 15, 1918, in Anniston, daughter of Andy and Hattie Thurman Calhoun. She and Earlene N. "Fats" Oliver wre married Sept. 22, 1934.

Oliver resided in East Prairie most of her life, and operated Colene's Beauty Shop many years. She was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Freddie Oliver of Green River, Wyo., Larry Oliver of Sikeston, Charles Oliver of East Prairie; two brothers, Thurman Calhoun of Ontario, Calif., Billy Calhoun of Chino, Calif.; three sisters, Halene Deleon and Frances Houser of East Prairie, Bobbie Wicker of Anniston; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Anniston Cemetery, with the Rev. Martin Lucas officiating.
