Coleman Daniel Jones, 27, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, April 7, 2017, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, following a brief illness and surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Cape Girardeau on Aug. 10, 1989, to Tony and Cindi Jones.
He was the valedictorian of the New Madrid County Central High School graduating class of 2008. He then attended Southeast Missouri State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in radio communications.
After graduation, he was employed by River Radio Group in Cape Girardeau as a broadcast engineer and station producer.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Stowe Jones (Ashleigh DuPree) of St. Louis; his maternal grandmother, Marjorie Phillips of New Madrid, Missouri; aunt, Kathie (Brad) Brune of Cape Girardeau; uncle, William Richard Phillips III of New Madrid; aunt, Frances (Tim) Gould of Cape Girardeau; cousin, Jeff (Shea) Brune, and children Adalia, Ellis and Harrison of Cape Girardeau; Allison (Charles) Evans and child, Cece Rose, of Cape Girardeau; Adam (Andrea) Davis and children, Hudson and Hayden, of Franklin, Tennessee; Matthew (Megan) Davis and child, Grady, of Cape Girardeau; Madison and Lexi Phillips of New Madrid; and Carly Phillips of Starkville, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Richard Phillips Jr. of New Madrid, and his paternal grandparents, Louis Franklin and Dorothy Jones of New Madrid.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, with rosary at 7:30 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church in New Madrid, officiated by the Rev. Jaroslaw Skrzypek. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Coleman D. Jones for Cape Girardeau Area of the American Red Cross or Immaculate Conception School in New Madrid.
