Clyde Wareing, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born April 1, 1908, at Willisville, Ill., to Harry and Della Luthy Wareing.
He married Violet Lacy Feb. 15, 1936.
A graduate of the former Cape Girardeau Business School, he operated a Shell service station on Good Hope Street, worked for the former Townsend Furniture Store and was the county commodity supervisor for a number of years. He was a bookkeeper at the former Marquette Cement Plant from 1943 to 1970. He also worked for WPA and the Co-op service station.
He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Don Wareing of Bridgeton; a daughter, Carol Grayson of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Harry Wareing of Anna, Ill., and Paul Wareing of Thebes, Ill.; three sisters, Ramona Belcher of St. Charles, Naomi Gray of St. Ann and Martha Steinborn of Florrisant; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A son, brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation is today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:30 to noon at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Terry Deckard officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
