Clyde William Sams, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born May 27, 1924, in Cape Girardeau to Clyde and Dorena Hengst Sams. He and Lucille Thomason were married January 21, 1950, in Paragould, Ark.
He was a member of Red Star Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II at Pearl Harbor. Clyde was involved in automobile sales for 55 years. He and Lucille were married for 62 years.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Sams of Cape Girardeau, and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary Lee Sams; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond McAfee officiating. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to Lynwood Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
