CLYDE HAROLD SMITH

DELTA, Mo. Clyde H. Smith, 74, of Delta, Mo., died Saturday, May 1, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born march 29, 1919, at Delta, Mo., son of Charles Henry and Lucresia Mahaffey Smith.

He married Kathryn Ruth Edwards, Nov. 6, 1943, at Elkton, Md.

Smith served overseas in World War II with the Military Police.

He retired in 1988 as the custodian at the Delta School District. Prior to working for the school district he drove a truck for Master's Poultry in Delta.

He was a member of the General Baptist Church in Arbor, Mo., and the Chaffee VFW Post #3127.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronnie Smith of Jefferson City, Mo., Bob Smith of Chaffee; a daughter, Donna Cannon of Chaffee; a brother, Odus Smith of Chaffee; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, with the Rev. Bob Bradford officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery near Arbor, Mo.
