NEW HAMBURG, Mo. -- Clyde Raymond Glastetter, 80, of New Hamburg died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 28, 1928, in New Hamburg, to Edward "Shorty" and Colletta Glaus Glastetter. He and Shirley Holtkamp were married Feb. 20, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2010.
Clyde was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He had a strong love of the land and enjoyed farming in the New Hamburg area.
He served in the National Guard.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Shirley A. Glastetter of New Hamburg; three sons, Clyde Joe Glastetter (Nancy Kelley) of Cape Girardeau, Kenny (Lori) Glastetter and Ted (Theresa) Glastetter of New Hamburg; two daughters, Judy (Richard) Baker of Jackson, Nancy (Art) Miller of Whitewater; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Roy Glastetter of Cape Girardeau, Gary (Carmen) Glastetter of Benton, Mo.; two sisters, Marcella (Arnold) Kapfer of Cape Girardeau, Alice (Luke) Ressel of Kelso, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at St. Lawrence Church. The rosary will be recited at 10.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Michael Casteel and the Rev. Ralph Duffner concelebrating.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Ambrose School or Notre Dame Regional High School.
