Clinton "Earl" Wages, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at his home. He was born July 1, 1937, in Marks, Miss., son of Clinton and Hallie Perkins Wages. He and Deanna Matthews-Amelunke were married Nov. 8, 1992. Wages was a police officer 20 years in Greenville, Miss. Clinton "Earl" Wages, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at his home.

He was born July 1, 1937, in Marks, Miss., son of Clinton and Hallie Perkins Wages. He and Deanna Matthews-Amelunke were married Nov. 8, 1992.

Wages was a police officer 20 years in Greenville, Miss. He worked in sales at various places, retiring after 14 years with Nu-Way Products in West Memphis, Ark. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Tilsit, Mo.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Carla Maletesta of Greenville, Sunni Thomas of Destin, Fla., Tracie Wages of Billings, Mont., Holly Fox of Jackson; two sons, Lucas and Derek Amelunke of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Ruth Spence of Memphis, Tenn., and Lynn Holland of Moscow, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Immanuel Church after 9 a.m. Friday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Mark Boettcher officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
