SIKESTON - Clifton E. Jones, 71, of Sikeston, died Thursday May 20, 1993 at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Visitation will begin today at 1:30 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home, with Masonic rites scheduled for 1:30. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home, with Rev. Mike Lee, associate pastor of the Trinity Life Center in Pueblo, Colo., officiating.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Charleston.
Jones was born Sept. 26, 1921 in Sikeston, the son of Ira M. and Anna Bacher Jones. He married Eva Copeland Inman on Nov. 6, 1966, who preceded him in death on June 19, 1986.
He had owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Greenville, Ill. until his retirement in 1985.
He was of the Baptist faith, had been a member, past president and lieutenant governor of the Greenville Kiwanis Club, and was a member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge #425, Scottish Rite of Belleville, and Ainad Temple of East St. Louis. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: a step-daughter, Mary Claycomb of Bertrand; two sisters, Margaret Lee and Mary Louise Alsup, both of Sikeston; and one brother, Clifford Jones of Greenville, Ill.
