EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Cletus Johnson of East Prairie will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. Mike Johnson will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.
Johnson, 75, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 1995, at Bertrand Nursing Facility.
He was born June 23, 1920, at Dorena, son of James T. and Janie Tinsley Johnson. He and LaVerne E. Redd were married Feb. 14, 1944.
Johnson retired as superintendent of Big Oak Tree State Park. He was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, J.T. Johnson of East Prairie; three daughters, Starr Manning, Marilyn Johnson and Shirley Johnson, all of East Prairie; a brother, Bob Johnson of East Prairie; three sisters, Bertha Miller of Waterproof, La., Annie Ivie of Bertrand, Violet Wallace of Charleston, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers and a sister.
