MARBLE HILL -- Cletus "Pete" Burchett, 69, of Marble Hill, died Tuesday, June 1, 1993, at Advance Nursing and Residential Care Center.
He was born April 16, 1924, in Bollinger County, son of Charlie and Ella Arnold Burchett. He and Margaret Gould were married May 2, 1942. She died May 7, 1992.
Burchett was a retired timber worker, and had owned and operated a sawmill many years.
Survivors include six sons, Jerry Burchett of House Springs, Charles Burchett of St. Louis, Wayne, Randy, Tim and Gary Burchett of Zalma; six daughters, Geraldine Bolin, Margie Hickenbotham, Ruth Menke and Sheila Burchett of St. Louis, Pat Burchett of Zalma, Sharon Huff of Dupo, Ill.; his mother, Ella Bennett of Advance; two half brothers, Rev. Roy Bennett of Salem, Delbert Bennett of state of Louisiana; a half sister, Pauline Stilts of St. Louis; 19 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Revs. Gary Cooper and Bob Porter will officiate, with burial in Cox Cemetery near Arab.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. today.
