BURFORDVILLE -- Cletus Brown, 85, of Burfordville died Thursday, Nov. 7, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 6, 1911, in Ridgeway, Ill., son of James Issac and Lottie Evelyn Dillard Brown. He first married Esther Wiley July 6, 1946. She died April 22, 1978. He later married Tessie Taylor Aug. 3, 1980.
Brown was a farmer, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He moved to Burfordville 16 years ago from Puxico.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Roger Brown of Puxico; two daughters, Shirley Peets of North Street, Mich., Thelma Satterfield of Temple, Ga.; two stepsons, David Byerly of St. Louis, Albert Byerly of Ft. Worth, Texas; a stepdaughter, Edith Bay of St. Louis; five brothers, Cecil Brown of Granite City, Ill., Louis Brown of Poplar Bluff, Edgar and Junior Brown of Puxico, Delmar Brown of Grand Blanc, Mich.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren, and four great-stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Puxico City Cemetery.
Friends may also call at the home of Roger Brown following burial.
