SCOTT CITY -- Cletis Davis Sr., 84, of Scott City, died Monday, March 21, 1994, at his home.
He was born July 13, 1909, in DuBois, Ill., son of Ike and Effie Mann Davis. He and Sadie Velma Nance were married Feb. 19, 1937, at Jackson.
Davis was a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Jerry, Cletis Jr. and Michael Davis of Scott City, Jimmy Davis of Cape Girardeau, Dennie Davis of Benton; three daughters, Delores Kriz of St. Peters, Brenda Niswonger of Scott City, Patty Bickings of Oran; twin brother Clyde Davis of Buford, Ill., a brother, Harold Davis of Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Gladys Yates of Du Quoin, Ill.; 23 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers, a sister and a grandchild.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Dickey officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
