CLEO WILLIAM SCOWDEN

ADVANCE -- Funeral service for Cleo William Scowden of Advance will be at 2 p.m. today at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

The Rev. Eldo Eaker will officiate and burial will be in the Berrong Cemetery near Gypsy, Mo.

Mr. Scowden died Thursday at the Bloomfield Nursing Center in Bloomfield. He was 78.

He was born Dec. 19, 1912 in Bollinger County, the son of the late Charlie and Eva Looney Scowden.

On Feb. 24, 1945, he married Mildred Hendrickson, who preceded him in death April 7, 1968. He later married Anna Klimek on July 12, 1969 in Gordonville. She survivies.

Mr. Scowden was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith.

Other survivors include two brothers, Dale Scowden of St. Louis and Elmer Scowden of St. Cloud, Fla.; and two sisters, Ellen Overton of Gypsy and Beulah Vinson of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
