Clayton Hunter Huey, 7, 2042 Thilenius, died Friday, May 2, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He darted in front of an automobile Thursday night on Broadway.
He was born Dec. 27, 1989, in Cape Girardeau, son of Charles and Lisa Lehman Huey.
Clayton was in first grade at Franklin School. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, and Cub Scout Pack 506. He was Missouri Child of the Year in 1996, presented by Missouri Statewide Parent Advisory Network and Department of Mental Health.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Trae and Burton Huey of Cape Girardeau; a grandmother, Jackie Green of Bloomfield; and great-grandfather, Bernal Murphy of Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Centenary Church, with the Rev. Neil Stein officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
