CAIRO, Ill. -- Clay White, 60, of Cairo died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at Day Star Care Center.
He was born Jan. 13, 1950, in Cairo, to William W. and Judith Chrestman White.
White graduated from St. Mary's High School in Paducah, Ky., in 1967. He worked at the family-owned grocery store, Chrestman's Food Center in Cairo and later worked in maintenance at Delta Drug. He was a Master Mason 32nd Degree at Cairo Lodge 237 AF&AM. White was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include a brother, James W. White of Mounds, Ill.; two sisters, Suzy Holland of Cairo, Ellie Nixon of Mounds; three nieces, Erica Thurston, Jessica Duncan and Jennifer Korte; three nephews, Forrest Nixon, Ben and Marcus Rushing; great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time today at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at the church, with the Rev. John Agbasiere and Larry Potts officiating. Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill.
Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
