CLAUDINE SMART

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Claudine B. Smart, 52, of Sikeston, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 30, 1947, in Bertrand, Mo., daughter of Everette Cain and Allene Waldron McCutchen.

She married Charles Harwell in 1968. He died in 1987. She then married James E. Smart on Dec. 2, 1992, in East Prairie, Mo.

She had worked at Wohl Shoe Warehouse in Sikeston and at Prairie Manufacturing Co. in East Prairie. She was a 1967 graduate of Charleston High School and a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church in Charleston, Mo.

Survivors include her parents; her husband; a son, Charles Harwell of Bertrand; three brothers, Larry Cain of Jacksonville, Fla., Michael Cain of Morehouse, Mo., and Roger Cain of Charleston; three sisters, Pauline Jenkins of Dogwood, Mo., Geraldine Mansfield of Sikeston, and Jeannie Cain of Charleston; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Martin Lucas officiating.

Cremation will follow the service.
